I read A LOT. The story was complicated enough to engage the reader while never getting convoluted and tedious. Deeadlock in Chicago is tough, but Paretsky does a grand job at showing the risky nature of he business VI’s involved in. I am an avid reader. Satisfying murder mystery that kept me guessing until near the end.
